The trust check

Six things worth knowing before anyone treats you.

Injectables and lasers are medical treatments. So every clinic gets the same simple check of what you can verify for yourself — not a rating, not an ad, and not a judgment of safety. Unknowns stay unknown.

  1. 01

    It’s a real place

Sourced from the clinic’s own website or booking page, with a street address. Marketing pages without a location don’t count.

  2. 02

    Who’s in charge

The medical director and provider credentials, exactly as the clinic publishes them, with a link. If they don’t publish it, we say so. We don’t verify licenses.

  3. 03

    No price games

Prices from the clinic’s own menu with their unit — per unit, per syringe, per session or package — linked and dated. If prices aren’t published, we say so.

  4. 04

    Reviews you can verify

We link the review pages so you can read them yourself. We never invent, average or “adjust” ratings.

  5. 05

    You can see the space

Photos of the actual clinic or team — labeled and credited. No copied before-and-after galleries, nothing AI-generated.

  6. 06

    Published hours

Opening hours in the clinic’s local time, as the clinic publishes them. Hours don’t guarantee a consult slot.

FIRST CONSULT?

Your first visit,
with fewer unknowns.

Most treatments start with a consultation. It is your chance to meet the provider, ask about their training and the products they use, and understand the price before anything happens. You can always take time to think it over.

  1. Who will treat me, and what is their license?Ask for the provider’s name and credential (for example MD, NP, PA or RN). You can look up a license yourself with the state’s medical or nursing board — or check physicians at DocInfo.org and nurses at Nursys.com.
  2. Who is the medical director?Ask which physician oversees treatments and how to reach the clinic if you have a concern afterwards.
  3. Which exact product or device?Ask for the brand name (for example Botox or Dysport, or a specific laser) so you can compare like with like.
  4. How is it priced?Ask whether the price is per unit, per syringe, per session or a package, roughly how much you might need, and what a follow-up costs.
  5. Is this right for me?Share your health history and medications, and ask about risks, downtime and alternatives. Only a qualified provider who has assessed you can answer this.
THE ORIGINAL DIRECTORY

Who does your injections?
Send them the clinic.

Most people find a provider through a friend. Share a clinic to the group chat with one tap — the link opens with published oversight, prices and a booking button. Saved a shortlist? Share that too and ask what your friends think.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Choosing a clinic,
calmly.

Plain answers about how Med Spa Guidebook works and what to check before you book. General information only, not medical advice. How we source our listings ↗

How do I find a trustworthy med spa in Washington, DC?
Start with things you can check yourself before you book a consult: a physical address and official website, the medical director and provider credentials the clinic publishes, prices with their unit, review pages on the original platform, and photos of the actual clinic. Med Spa Guidebook lists 167 med spas and medical aesthetics clinics across 41 DC neighborhoods and shows which of these details we could confirm for each one, with links to the sources and the date we checked them. We don’t rate clinics or verify licenses.
Who is allowed to give Botox or filler injections?
Injectables such as neurotoxins and dermal fillers are medical treatments. Who may give them, and what physician oversight is required, is set by each state’s medical and nursing boards, and the rules differ from state to state. Ask who will treat you and who their supervising physician is. This is general information, not legal or medical advice. To look up a license, use the state’s medical and nursing boards, DocInfo.org for physicians or Nursys.com for nurses.
Does Med Spa Guidebook check that providers are licensed?
No. We show the medical director and provider credentials only as the clinic publishes them, with a link to where it says so and the date we checked. We don’t verify licenses, training or safety. If a clinic doesn’t publish this, the profile says so — ask at your consult, and check any provider yourself (the state’s medical and nursing boards, DocInfo.org for physicians or Nursys.com for nurses).
What is the Med Spa Guidebook trust check?
It is a six-point checklist on every clinic profile: a real, sourced location; who’s in charge (medical director and provider credentials as published); published prices; review sources you can verify; photos of the space; and published opening hours. It is not a rating and not a judgment of quality or safety. A missing item means we could not confirm it from a public source.
Does Med Spa Guidebook rate or rank clinics?
We never give clinics our own star ratings. By default, clinics are sorted by how many trust-check details we could confirm. Some owner-verified clinics are Featured through a partnership with Winback Engine, the company behind Med Spa Guidebook; Featured clinics are always labeled and can appear first, but Featured never changes a clinic’s trust check, prices or reviews. We link to each clinic’s review pages on Google, Yelp and other platforms rather than copying their scores, so you always see the current reviews.
Why are Botox prices per unit and filler prices per syringe?
Neurotoxins (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau, Daxxify) are usually priced per unit, and the number of units depends on the area and the person. Units are not interchangeable between brands, so compare the same product. Fillers are usually priced per syringe; devices such as lasers and RF microneedling per session or package. A low per-unit price can still add up, so ask how many units or syringes the provider expects and what a follow-up costs.
How much does Botox cost per unit in Washington, DC?
Among the 9 clinics on Med Spa Guidebook that publish a standard per-unit price for Botox or a Botox-equivalent toxin (Xeomin, Jeuveau), the lowest listed price per clinic ranges from $10 to $17 per unit, with a median of $13 and the middle half between $12 and $13. Prices are published by the clinics, last checked 2026-10-29. Dysport and Daxxify are left out of this comparison because their units are dosed differently. Membership and new-patient offers are excluded. Your total depends on the product and how many units you need, so confirm at your consult.
What should I ask at my first med spa consultation?
Who will treat me, and what is their license? Ask for the provider’s name and credential (for example MD, NP, PA or RN). You can look up a license yourself with the state’s medical or nursing board — or check physicians at DocInfo.org and nurses at Nursys.com. Who is the medical director? Ask which physician oversees treatments and how to reach the clinic if you have a concern afterwards. Which exact product or device? Ask for the brand name (for example Botox or Dysport, or a specific laser) so you can compare like with like. How is it priced? Ask whether the price is per unit, per syringe, per session or a package, roughly how much you might need, and what a follow-up costs. Is this right for me? Share your health history and medications, and ask about risks, downtime and alternatives. Only a qualified provider who has assessed you can answer this.
How do I compare laser and device prices?
Compare the same treatment and area, and check whether a price covers one session or a package, and whether it is a starting price. We keep the unit with each price and link to the clinic’s own menu. Follow the clinic’s booking or consultation link to confirm current options.
Do I book through Med Spa Guidebook?
No. Every profile links to the clinic’s own booking page, website or phone number, so you book directly with the clinic. Med Spa Guidebook does not take bookings or charge fees.
My clinic is missing or out of date. How do I fix it?
Owners can claim a free profile, and anyone can suggest a missing clinic or a correction from the “For clinics” page. Requests are reviewed against the clinic’s official sources before anything changes on a public profile.
